Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism compliance just became significantly faster.
We’re launching our upgraded CBAM Emissions Calculator — free for your first 10 rows of data — and it changes the way importers and compliance teams calculate their CBAM certificate costs.
Try it here: https://vis-map.com/cbam_calculator.html
What Does the Calculator Do?
The CBAM Emissions Calculator processes your trade data and automatically calculates:
- The embedded carbon emissions for each imported good, using official EU Commission default values from Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2621
- The number of CBAM certificates required
- Your estimated CBAM certificate cost in euros, based on the live EU ETS carbon price you enter
It covers all five CBAM sectors — steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, and electricity — across 120 countries, using the February 2026 edition of EU default emission factors.
The Biggest Upgrade: Drag-and-Drop Excel Upload
Previously, calculating your CBAM liability meant manually entering data row by row. Now you simply upload your existing Excel or CSV trade data file — .xlsx, .xls, or .csv formats are all supported — and the calculator maps your columns automatically.
You confirm which column contains your CN/HS codes, country of origin, and net weight, set your weight unit, and click Calculate. Your data never leaves your browser.
Key Features
1. Supports Excel and CSV upload
Drop in your existing trade data file. No reformatting required. The calculator reads your columns and lets you confirm the mapping before running.
2. Official EU default emission factors
All calculations use the EU Commission’s Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2621 default values — 120 countries, 5 sectors, updated February 2026. You get figures that are aligned with the regulation, not estimates.
3. Flexible column mapping and fallback options
If a row’s CN code column is empty, the calculator can fall back to a secondary HS code column. If a country isn’t found, it defaults to the EU’s “Other Countries” value so your calculation still runs.
4. CBAM liability calculation
Enter the current EU ETS certificate price and your reporting year (2026, 2027, or 2028+), and the tool calculates your full CBAM liability — including the correct free allocation percentage for each year.
5. Free for the first 10 rows
Your first 10 product lines are processed completely free. No account required. Perfect for testing with a sample of your shipments before scaling up.
6. Runs entirely in your browser
Your trade data never leaves your device. Nothing is sent to any server.
